Health

Modern medical  science pays more and more attention to naturopathy and alternative therapies.  Apitherapy is one of these; it is gradually sneaking also behind the walls of hospitals. Honey, along with other honey bee products such as propolis and royal jelly, is used since the ancient times in order to treat various diseases and inflammations, though they had proved to be effective in stimulating the immun system as well.

Unfortunately, however, honey has quite fallen into the background because of the spread of antibiotics, we could almost say that we have forgotten about its antibacterial effect.

The use of antibiotics is increasing all around the world, meanwhile the development of new bacterial strains is increasing as well that are resistant to antibiotics. Therefore, there will remain less and less effective medicines against infections. Fortunately, natural antibiotic substances, like honey, are getting into the centre of attention again; they are economically favourable and the bacteria are unable to resist.

About bio

Nowadays there’s growing demand for food that are healthful, and conscious shoppers can have their choice from the broadening supply of bio products.

A long process is needed for a product to become truly bio and all natural. The control of bio products doesn’t imply only to the final products but to the entire process of production, for this reason cultivation, animal husbandry and preparation are regulated by strict prescriptions. From the agricultural land until the products get to the stores an objective controlling and attestation system supervises whether the rules are respected or not. The term ’bio’ can only be applied if at least 95 % of the primary materials come from an organic farm.

The basic principle of an organic farm is to find a way in which the cultivation of plants, live stock farming harmonizes with the local conditions, and prefers versatile, harmonious, gentle farming methods to the pursuing of high profits. The agriculturists, producers, manufacturers don’t use any kind of toxic atomizer sprays, genetically modified materials, preservatives or additives in order to avoid as much as possible the intervention in ecosystems. The reason behind this is that in the centre of the organic farming viewponts the protection of water and air stands, as well as the preservation of soil fertility and biological diversity. Ecological or organic farming are those, which can fulfill these conditions and at the same time produces high quality, tasty food that are rich in nutrition.

Consequently, organic products are chosen by health, and environmentally conscious people, since at their production also the health of people and the protection of nature is kept in mind.

Pollen

Pollen is the male gamete of plants, transferred to the pistil by wind, insects, -mostly bees- with the purpose of fertilization. On the flowers the worker bees gather pollen into pollen baskets situated at the hind legs. The apiculturist gains the honey with the help of a narrow bar from the bees, which are collecting the pollen. Afterwards, he dries, cleans and sells it in its natural state.

The pollen that bees collect is highly recommended for adolescent and young children. It increases the number of red blood cells, improves the immun system and as a result reduces the incidence of common colds. Applying daily 30-40 grams sustains the state of heavy physical workers, enhance the recovery of the body, improves appetite, it helps our bodies use nutrients moreover stimulates mental performance as well. It also assues genereal health conditions and a greater activity. Its tryptophan content can treat hair loss problems. Furthermore, it strengthens heart muscles, it is a proven fact; pollen is an essential ingredient of racehorse pastures.

Bee pollen dosage: For children 5-15 g per day, for adults 15-20 g per day (one teaspoon is approximately 5 grams)

Bee pollen is extremely perishable, therefore it is mostly dried or refrigerated, but also possible to conserve it by blending it with honey. Our organisms can make the least use of dried pollens.

Propolis

Propolis is a resinous mixture used as a sealant by the bees. It is gathered from the sticky secretion of plants’ bud. This material is used to seal open spaces, and to cover any unevenness on the surface or extraneous matter. The collected propolis contains beeswax and other foreign constituents. Propolis compounds are essential oils, vitamin B1, B2, B6, C, E, amino-acids, enzymes and mineral enzymes.

Most commonly it is processed by making a tincture solution. The extract is used in otolaryngology by external application.

It is suitable for internal use as well: drop a little amount in tea or to a teaspoon of honey. Its consumption is not only pleasant with its fresh taste but is also useful. The dosage of propolis tincture is 15-20 drops twice a day (in the morning and at night before sleeping). It has a vasodilator, blood pressure regulator, antibacterial, refreshing effect to the capillary vessel structure. Consuming it regularly will keep our immune system strong and healthy to a large extent. In case of sore throat and cold, gargle with the mixture of warm water and tincture several times a day.

By mixing dense propolis extract with a fatty vehicle we will get balsam.  It is mostly applied in case of burning, frostbite, haemorrhoids, prostatitis, fungal skin and nail infections and rheumatic pains.

Propolis capsules are used to treat gastrointestinal diseases. They absorb fast and easily get to the tissues and don’t damage the intestinal flora.

In ancient times propolis served for embalming bodies, and it can be observed even today if an insect or a smaller animal, for instance a mouse gets to the hive accidentally, the bees cover it up and it won’t start to decompose.

Royal jelly

<xml></xml>Royal jelly is secreted from the glands in the hypopharynx of worker bees, it is also called ’milk of bees’. Young worker bees use it to nurture larvae in brood-cells when they want to nurture a queen. The ovulating adult queen is fed with this secretion as well.

The composition of royal jelly is rather complex. It has been analysed by so many people scores of times yet some percent of the material is still unknown. Its main mass consists of protein of excellent quality. Its most important components are vitamins. The complete set of vitamin B can be found in it. Besides, it is made up of growth promoting substances, mineral salts and trace elements. Certain constituting elements strengthen each other’s efficacy.

Although royal jelly is not a medicine it is a very effective nutritional supplement. It has a general strengthening effect, and throughout its use the system removes toxic substances from the body. It boosts metabolism up to the level of organism constituting cells. After an illness it excellently helps to recover from weak health. Cardivascular problems, gastrointestinal and nervous system disorders can be effectively healed. Cardiologists claim it is the ’bread’ of cardiovascular disease patients.

Experience shows that after taking it from four up to ten days a few days long purifying process sets in. Throughout this time the person’s genereal conditions deteriorate; headache and other pains can occur. If possible, at this stage its application should not be stopped, since the pain won’t last longer than a couple of days in most cases and then quickly the state of health will improve. Using more than 2 grams of royal jelly a day might cause diarrhea for the next few days, which is a natural consequence of the purifying process, it is not pathological and it will cease.

Consuming royal jelly is essential for dietary supplement reasons. Before consumption it is advised to stir honey and royal jelly since the two components might separate because of the difference of specific weight after a longer period of time. It is best to suck the royal jelly blended in a little honey before breakfast on an empty stomach and as long as possible. Dosage for adults: daily 0,5 gram royal jelly from its containing ampoule (an ampoule should last for 6 days).

For general improvement: daily 0,3-0,4 g royal jelly (an ampoule should last for 7-10 days).

In severe conditions, in case of debilitated state, need for fast recovery or precise aims the dosage can be increased up to daily 1 gram.

For children dose proportionally to body weight.

For women over menopause it is not advisable to consume royal jelly for a half or one year, because it may restores menstrual cycle. After a year has passed the dosage of 1 g royal jelly can reduce the complaints connected with hormonal deficiency, moreover provides good state of health and resilience.

Usually, royal jelly is very beneficial for heart diseases.

Patients suffering from low or hight blood pressure can take royal jelly only under medical supervision because their need for medicaments drops and it can lead to serious troubles. At least one week after starting the cure the dosage of medicaments must be adjusted again. It is forbidden to take royal jelly without medical supervision while having blood pressure problems.

The acid content of honey conserves royal jelly, so it can be preserved by blending it with honey. It is recommended to keep it in refrigerator at 1-3 degrees, but do not freeze it. Consuming honey and pollen favourably complements the effect of royal jelly. It contains many organic acids therefore it should be touched with acid-resistant tool only. Making contact with metal must be avoided. The best is to use wooden or plastic applicator spatula.

Walnut

God’s pharmacy! It has been said about walnut by our ancestors referring to the extraordinary gift that nature provided for humans: a fruit with healing and nourishing effect.

By consuming walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds and peanuts it is possible to lower the level of unwanted triglycerides in the body, while the rate of cholesterol with favourable effect will increase. The latter case will be significantly beneficial for the prevention of heart diseases. Sweet chestnut and pecan also contain ellagic acid. It was shown clearly by physiological experiments that the presence of ellagic acid in the human plasma sets off an advantageous process in the body which will cause cancer cells to self-destruct! The species of walnut family contain antioxidants, which effectively prevent the development of cancer and heart diseases, moreover vitamin E as well.

The following description of the wonderfully effective walnut can be found on the site of Gourmandnet:

Rye bran

What we have to know about rye bran

After ingestion of food the digestion process begins, and it will result along with many things, in ’bad’ LDL cholesterol. In Western countries this substance is responsible for the 50 % of cardiovascular death.

If beside the existing food we also ingest rye bran, the ’bad’ LDL cholesterol, caused during the digestion process, adheres to the fibres of rye bran.

The human body can not digest these fibres, these simply move through the digestive tract, so the adhered, ’bad’ cholesterol won’t absorb and get to the blood vessels, but will cleare from the body together with excretion.

Dr. Pjer Dikan, a noted French doctor claims that rye bran can lower the level of bad cholesterol with even 15 %, which gives the same result as medicaments for this purpose.

Not like other types, the fibres of rye bran are able to dissolve in water, thus these fibres can swell up to 20-40 times their original size.

Similarly, the sugar in small intestine will adhere to the swollen mass, and then will be able to get into the veins only very slowly and in a smaller amount.

The rye bran added to nourishment will suppress the abrupt increase of blood sugar level thus providing an excellent prevention of diabetes.

Rye barn moves through the digestive tract after ingestion. Inappropriate eating habits and unhealthy, modern lifestyle full with stressful situations have strong, negative influence on our health. The excessive and misuse of fertilizer sprays and synthetic additives in the food industry is definitely proved to be responsible for several diseases of our modern civilisation (cancer, allergies, degenerative-, nervous system-, vascular diseases among others).

Modern cuisine and diets are nowadays excessively spicy, fatty and overwhelming; which is normal for Hungarians since of traditional food, and we are not even aware of the vascular and cancer problems it might cause.

The most recent research studies have shown that food can provide strength, health, which protect us from severe illnesses however can have a negative influence on us as well. Food have such properties as well, which rise our spirits, cure depression but can also foster aggressive attitude.

How to preserve our health in an enjoyable way?

The essence of ’OJ’ product family starts right with answering this question.

First of all, it is important to know that as an all-natural product, it is free from any colouring matters, flavour enhancers and substances that are harmful to human health.

One of its key components is organic rye bran, and its high fibre content was what we put emphasis on. It can remarkably create a balance in our body: it is good for regulating our body weight, it boosts and helps digestion, peristalsis, it also reduces the sense of hunger and regulates our appetite, it is beneficial for the intestinal flora and for the function of intestinal bacteria thus strengthening the immun system. Moreover, it absorbs fat, lowers the level of cholesterol and triglyceride in the blood, it also cleans our system from toxins and excretions, and helps in the prevention of diabetes, hypertension and bowel cancer.

Another essential component is organic coconut sugar, of which the glycemix index is GI=35, making it possible also to diabetics to consume.

This sweet little thing works really well.

It’s enough to eat 3-4 thin, small bars a day during meal, even into empty stomach and within days you can feel its effects and the positive results of the ingredients.
